A Bit About Us


We're Fiona & Neil and we're on a road trip. It started in New York City but we're not sure where it will end. Our journey will take us through the United States of America, into Mexico and Central America and who knows where else.

It's something we planned and saved for much like a holiday except a bit bigger and longer. We're not exactly in the lap of luxury either and will be pitching a tent most nights but that only adds to the adventure. With no strict itinerary or timeline to keep, we're free to take our 98 Toyota 4 Runner, Trisha wherever the wind is blowing.

Putting life on hold back home wasn't an easy decision but there seemed too much to see and do and two weeks a year wasn't going to cut it. We feel privileged to be able to take a trip like this and are always on the look out for volunteer opportunities along our route where we can help out.

We hope you find our blog useful, entertaining or both and if you have any suggestions or ideas about where to go and what to do then we're all ears. Enjoy!

    Do you have any sort of pros/cons list in regards to driving the 4Runner? I'm in the early stages of planning the trip (about two years out). I'd like to go ahead and purchase a vehicle. It will only be me driving, although I will be taking the trip with a friend. We've traveled together before and have realized that we need plenty of separate space so we don't kill each other. Do you think the 4Runner is suitable for 1 person?
